DESIGNING THE PRESENTATION All slides except photographs should have a title. The font size should be at least28 Use capital letters only where necessary Slides are easier to follow if indentations are used. Your slides should be points-not a manuscript Keep your slides under nine lines. Use dark backgrounds-not light

HOW TO ANNOY THE AUDIENCE Especially the lecturer …… Misuse sound Overuse transition effects Focus the audience on your slides, not the speaker Try to use every feature PowerPoint has to offer

TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL PRESENTATIONS Learn your hardware Know how to troubleshoot Adjust the lights Always have a Plan B Copy presentation to backup disks – jump drives, drop box, sky drive etc. The audience never has to know Stretch your creativity if it will enhance the presentation

OTHER TIPS FOR PRESENTING Review Do a pilot Trial run with equipment Placement of equipment Presenter face the audience Consider an assistant Use prepared notes Pace the presentation Volume and clarity are important
