Garfield Graphics included with kind permission from PAWS Inc. All Rights Reserved. Getting Started It is a good idea to put everything you use in your PowerPoint in a folder. Before you start your PowerPoint document - plan your presentation in a word document. Type up the text you wish to put on the slides. Use the spell checker to eliminate errors. Collect any images you may wish to use in the presentation. Use a graphics package (such as MS-Paint or Fireworks) to resize and amend (perhaps label or re-colour) your pictures ready for insertion.

Always save your presentations as ‘presentation’ so that you can amend them later and as ‘show’ to send to others. The ‘Edit’ option allows you to amend the slide you are working on – or even delete it.

Overlapping pictures Each time you add a picture it will be put onto the screen so that it overlaps the pictures before. It’s ‘order’ is that it is on top of the others that went before. If you ‘right click’ on a picture you can change that ‘order’. The window on the right will open up and you can re-order the pictures.
