Janet Cadden Section 401 5/6/2010

The following instructions will take you through the necessary steps to make a Chocolate Trifle. A chocolate trifle is a wonderful dessert that consists of brownies, chocolate pudding, cool whip, and chocolate shavings. This set of instructions is for a small group of bakers who are at an intermediate level. The total process will take approximately an hour to do, which includes cooling time for brownies. After the dessert is put together, you should set it in the refrigerator for about 8 hours. It is a good idea to make this dessert the day or night before an event, holiday, or special occasion since it has to set for so long. Some safety issues you should keep in mind are setting the oven at the appropriate temperature and turning off oven when finished. Good luck!

 1 package of brownie mix  1 package of chocolate pudding mix (3.9 ounces)  2 tubs of 8 oz. cool whip (thawed)  1 chocolate candy bar (whatever you prefer)  Trifle dish  Oven  Milk (for pudding mix)  Eggs, canola oil, and water (for brownie mix)  Mixing bowls  Large Spoon  Whisk  Pan for brownies

Step 1: Preheat oven at necessary temperature for your brownies ( can be found on brownie mix box). Step 2: Prepare brownie mix as directed on box.

Step 3: Pour brownie batter in the pan and then cook for the designated amount of time. Step 4: Let brownies cool for about 30 minutes. Step 5: Cut brownies into 1- inch squares.

Step 6: Prepare instant chocolate pudding mix as directed on package. Use your whisk to mix the pudding and milk. Step 7: Mix one tub of cool whip with the pudding thoroughly until no streaks remain.

Step 8: In trifle dish, place half of the brownie squares on the bottom. Step 9: Take half of your pudding/cool whip mix and place it on top of the brownies already in the dish. Step 10: Take half of the remaining cool whip from the tub and place over top of the pudding layer.

Step 11: Repeat Steps 8-10 Using the rest of the brownies, pudding, and cool whip

Step 13: Shave pieces from chocolate candy bar on top of cool whip layer. Step 14: Cover dish with plastic wrap or foil. Step 15: Place in refrigerator for 8 hours to set.

Last step: Serve and enjoy!!!!!!

Now you have finished making the dessert and shared it with your family and friends!!! The dessert will last for a good week if you keep it properly covered and keep it stored in the refrigerator. There are also many different types of ingredients you can use. You can change them to what your family and friends like. For instance, some bakers use cake instead of brownies, they add fruit, or use heavy cream instead of cool whip. Switch it up to what your taste buds are craving!
