Limestone 1997 Past Paper Question Study the Ingleton OS map. (a) The Yorkshire Dales National Park, shown on the map, is characterised by upland Limestone scenery. Describe the evidence to support the above statement, referring to specific named features shown on the map. 12 marks (b) Choose any one Upland Limestone feature (other than waterfalls), described in your answer to part (a), and, with the aid of a diagram, explain its formation. 6 marks

Limestone 1997 Past Paper Answer (a) Answers should provide a broad description, and identify by name with the aid of appropriate grid references, some examples of the upland limestone features shown on the map extract. Assess out of 12, a mere list of features with grid references should score a maximum of 10 marks, while repeated examples of the same feature should be given a maximum of 3. (b) For the selected feature explanations should include 3 well developed points, all of which could be provided with a well annotated diagram. 6 marks
