The Difference Between the Knit and the Purl Stitch
2
Step One – Placement of Right Needle PurlKnit For Knitting, be sure to place your working yarn behind your right needle. For Purling, it goes in front of needle.
3
Step Two – The Wrap PurlKnit In both Knitting and Purling, wrap the working yarn around the right handed needle.
4
Step Three – Pulling Through PurlKnit For Knitting, pull the right needle from back to front, ending up with the right needle on top of the left. For Purling, pull the right needle from front to back, with the right needle ending up behind the left.
5
Step Four – Leap of Faith PurlKnit In both cases, pull the stitch off the left hand needle and start the next stitch from Step One.
