11. How the A.R.T. technique works
The test works by
Measuring the current flowing through the earth electrode under test that is generated by the the DET3TC at 128 Hz
Ignoring the current flowing from the DET3TC into the parallel connections and other earth currents normally flowing in the electrode under test
This is a huge benefit because
It allows the user to test the electrode without disconnecting it from the system, avoiding the complication of system shutdown or auxiliary temporary electrodes
It means that the connections to the electrode under test can be left un-disturbed
