Analysed Andrews! We are presenting our findings on Andrews salts. We have done some experiments to see if their claims are true.

Useful Information We have found out the meanings of some of these words which are associated with the product Andrew’s. Effervescence- the process of bubbling as gas escapes. Antacid- not acid (alkaline). Laxative- helps relive constipation.

Table Of Results. We would now like to show you the results of our experiments. Our task was to find out which of the ingredients were antacid. Here are our results…

A table of results for antacid. INGREDIENTSACIDALKALINE Epsom Salts Yes Citric acid Yes SucroseYes Sodium hydrogen carbonate. Yes

Scientific Discovery! Another piece of information we needed to find out was which gas is involved: Another piece of information we needed to find out was which gas is involved: The name of the gas which is produced when Andrews is mixed with water is Carbon Dioxide. The name of the gas which is produced when Andrews is mixed with water is Carbon Dioxide.

The Second Table Of Results Next we did another experiment to see which ingredient or which combination of ingredients were needed to make the gas (carbon dioxide). Here are our results……. 9 Conclusion of the Results!  We found out that when all ingredients were mixed together the substance fizzed.  But the main two ingredients which made the substance fizz were Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate and Citric Acid.  As long as these two ingredients were in a mixture the substance would fizz.

The Job of Each Ingredient Citric Acid + Sodium Bicarbonate (Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate)= Carbon Dioxide which is the gas that produces the fizz. Citric Acid + Sodium Bicarbonate (Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate)= Carbon Dioxide which is the gas that produces the fizz. Sucrose= A form of sugar which is used to sweeten the Andrew's product. 11 Final Conclusion We needed to investigate the claims Andrews made for example: When your natural sparkle has been over- run by the effects of modern living, wake it up with a glass of sparkling Andrews. They are claiming that their product helps you revitalise, which once tried is turned out to be true!!!
