1 HOW TO GLORIFY GOD MATTHEW 5:13-16

2 What is the primary job of a Christian?
The primary job of the Christian is to glorify God and bring glory to His name. Psalms 86: I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore. Matthew 5: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” How is this done? This what we want to about today We Glorify God By:

3 To bear fruit we must be in Christ, John 17:1-7
Bearing Fruit John 15: "My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.” To bear fruit we must be in Christ, John 17:1-7 What kind of fruit should we be bearing? The fruit of: Good Works Matthew 5: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Galatians 6: So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

4 We should love God with all our:
Ephesians 2: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Matthew 20: "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Love We should love God with all our: Heart Soul Mind Strength Mark 12:30 God is not only concerned with our love for Him But also our love for our fellow-man.

5 Paul tells us how to love in I Corinthians 13.
Mark 12: "And the second, like it, is this: `You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' John 15: "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. These things I spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” Paul tells us how to love in I Corinthians 13. We should bear the fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

6 The Proper Use Of Our Mouth
Romans 15 : That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. The mouth can be used for good or evil. James 3: Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Improper uses of the mouth: Lying Ephesians 4: Therefore, putting away lying, each one speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Revelation 21: “All liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.''

7 It was false witnesses who testified against Jesus. Foul Talk
Colossians 3: Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, It was false witnesses who testified against Jesus. Foul Talk Ephesians 4: Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. Colossians 3: But now you must also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Using The Lord’s Name In Vain Whenever we use the Lord’s name it should be done reverently and with honor. Any other use would be using it in vain.

8 Encouraging/Exhortation
Proper Use Edifying Ephesians 4: Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Edify— To instruct in such a way as to improve, enlighten, or uplift, morally, spiritually, or intellectually; to build. I Corinthians 14: So with yourselves; since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church. Encouraging/Exhortation

9 I Thessalonians 5: Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. Hebrews 10: Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Worshipping God Hebrews 12: Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe; Hebrews 13: Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. Teaching God’s Word

10 This is why Christ came in the world
Colossians 3: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. There is no greater way to show our love for someone than to share the gospel with them. This is why Christ came in the world Luke 19: “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.'' Matthew 28: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” Mark 16: "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” Jesus commanded it We just need to do it!

11 Everything we do should bring glory to God
In Our Daily Living Everything we do should bring glory to God I Corinthians 6: Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body. Every day should be used to glorify God through Christ Luke 9: "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Colossians 3: And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

12 Our Primary Purpose Is To Glorify God
HOW WELL ARE YOU FULFILLING YOUR PURPOSE?
