Why you must “work” to influence? (Eph. 2:8-10) (vv.8-9) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. (v.10) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

What is “Work (ergon / ἔ ργον”)? The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat. (2 Thes. 3:10) …work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. (Phil 2:12b) Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the works of the law… (Rom.3:20a) He (God) will render to each one according to his works (Rom 2:6 ESV) 1 4 3 2

Eph. 2:10 >> Mat.6:19 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (ESV) “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (ESV)

GOD’S WORK =GOD’S POEM For we are God’s handiwork ( poiēma ), poiēma created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (walk).

“POEM”: definition A composition in verse, usually characterized by concentrated and heightened language in which words are chosen for their sound and suggestive power as well as for their sense, using such techniques as metre, rhyme, and alliteration A literary composition that is not in verse by exhibits the intensity of imagination and language common to it Anything resembling a poem in beauty, effect, etc
