Mrs. Salvi Agenda for April 15, 2015 Science 6: Objective: Full Inquiry Experiment: How can pollution affect plant growth? Engage: Question of the day? How can air pollution affect plants? (Formative Assessment) Explore: Write a hypothesis and state variables for the experiment Explain: Detailed procedures. Elaborate: Conduct the experiment Evaluate: Data table

Mrs. Salvi Agenda for April 15, 2015 Science 5: Objective: The student understands how the surface of the Earth is shaped by both slow processes (for example, weathering, erosion, deposition) and rapid, cataclysmic events (for example, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes) Chemical and Mechanical Weathering of Rock Lab

Mrs. Salvi Agenda for April 9, 2015 Science 8: Objective: Students will apply the information that they have learned throughout the chapter to design and build a scooter that will travel forward a distance of 1.5 meters. Engage: Balloon demonstration? What makes the balloon move forward? (Formative Assessment) Explore: Newton's Laws of motion - Brainstorm how to propel a vehicle without electricity or the force of gravity. Ways that the vehicle can be designed so that it will travel in a straight line. Explain: Newton's Scooters Project Rules Elaborate: Students will begin to sketch their possible vehicles showing the forces of friction and gravity and how Newton's third Law applies to their sketch. Evaluate: Students will work with a partner to complete this project. Participation in project will be assessed.

Mrs. Salvi Agenda for April 15, 2015 Science 4 Objective: The Student works collaboratively to collect, share and record information for a scientific investigation. Engage: What properties cause liquids to form layers? Explore: Materials and set up for the lab Explain: Procedures Elaborate: Record observations. Evaluate: Explain your results
