Title Chapters (novels) Dialogue Exposition – beginning of story when characters and setting are introduced Rising Action – central conflict is developed through sequence of events (conflicts) that propel the plot forward Climax – the most intense moment in a story that needs to be resolved Falling Action – sequence of events that lead to resolution Resolution – the outcome of the conflict presented by the climax
