2. Messi plays for his national team Argentina. He also plays for FC Barcelona, one of the biggest Spanish football teams in Spain, and Around to world. Both teams he plays as an attacker.

3. At the age of five, Messi started playing football for a local club called Grandoli which was coached by his father. Then, in 1995 Messi transferred to Newell’s Old Boys, which was based on his home city, Rosario in Argentina.

4. Messi’s shooting accuracy makes him a very good player. His speed also makes him a very talented player because that makes him get to the ball very quickly.

5. I enjoy watching Messi because he has many different skills on the ground and I love to see other defenders getting confused by his tricks, and I like how he dribbles the ball through the defenders.

6. I would ask Messi: What inspired you to become a football player? Who did you admire when you were small? Which team did you cheer for when you were small?

7. Lionel Andres Messi was born on the 24 th of June 1987 in Rosario, Argentina to parents Jorge Horacio Messi and Celia Maria Cuccittini.

8. Messi’s parents are called Jorge Horacio Messi, a factory steel worker, and Celia Maria Cuccittini, a part-time cleaner. He has 2 older brothers named Rodrigo and Matias. He also has sister named Maria Sol.
