2
The hea-vens are tel-ling the glo-ry of God; and the skies are de-claring the work of His hands. For day after day they speak, pour-ing forth know-ledge, and night af-ter night is dis-played their ex-panse. 2
3
Their voice is not heard – there’s no speech and no word, but their sound has gone forth to the earth’s far-thest end. The sun in the heav-en comes forth like a bride-groom; the Lord for a race does His cham-pion send. 3
4
It ri-ses at one end of hea-ven and tra-vels; its cir-cuit extends over all of the earth. And no-thing is hid-den from its heat or glor-y; and like it, God’s law shines with pow-er and worth. 4
5
The law of the Lord is most per-fect and ho-ly, re-viving the soul and re-storing the heart; The stat-utes of God can be tru-sted most surely, they make wise the sim-ple and truth do impart. 5
6
The pre-cepts of God are right, gi-ving the heart joy; com-mands of the Lord are pure, light-ing the eyes. The fear of the Lord is en-during for-ever; His judg-ments are true, right-eous, mak-ing us wise. 6
7
They are much more pre-cious than gold, and much swee-ter than hon-ey and hon-ey-comb where hon-ey’s stored; More-over, by them is Your ser-vant in-struct-ed; in kee-ping Your stat-utes, there is great re-ward. 7
8
But who can disc-ern his faults? O Lord, for-give both my hid-den and will-ful sins – let them not rule! Then I will be blame-less, com-plete, and acquit-ted of every tran-sgres-sion that be-sets the fool. 8
9
May all of the wor-ds of my mouth a-nd the thoughts of my heart be ac-cepted, O Lord, in Your sight; O Lord, my sure Rock and my pre-cious Re-deemer, may my life be plea-sing and lived in Your light. 9
