habitat The Giant Golden-Crowned Flying fox bat is confined to the rain forests of the Philippines. It likes uninhabited areas. They usually live at a sea level of 3,600 ft. They roost on fig trees where they have easy access to figs.

Appearance Hence the name, it has a bit of golden fur on the top of its head. It has a black body and no tail. These bats have a 4-5 ft. wingspan and weigh 1-3 lbs.

Special facts First, it can fly at 25 MPH. They are the world’s largest bats. It uses water to groom itself. These bats are pollinators. This species is hunted for their meat and pelts.
