NOTCH’S LIFE Notch was born in 1979 on June the 1 st. When he was 7 he started programming. He produced his first game (a text-adventure) at the age of 8 with the help of type in programme's. In 2005 he started working for king.com which he left in 2009 to work as a programmer at Jalbum. As Minecraft sales grew he moved from full time at Jalbum to part-time. Eventually he left to focus full time on Minecraft in june 2010.Many Mojang workers were ex-jalbum employees.

minecraft Minecraft is one of the most popular games ever made. It is a game of destroying and placing blocks. But as you start upagrading levels you start thinking more about building and less about survival. The only rule = there are no rules.

THE IMPACT OF NOTCH Notch has had a huge impact on the world. For example in some schools Minecraft is used for educational purposes. Also minecraft is a way to express your imagination. Minecraft is already being used in 2500 schools worldwide.

Educational benefits Reading The names of the items in your inventory are a good way to get younger children reading. Writing Players can use the book and quill to keep a log or communicate to other players. Maths The crafting system can help teaching basic maths e.g.(I need 3 sugar cane for paper).

Maths Also the Minecraft crafting system can be used for multiplication e.g.(I need 1 leather and 3 paper for a book and 3 books for a bookshelf and I want 4 bookshelf's). Music With some Redstone chemistry you can use note blocks to experiment with different notes and pitches. Basic science technology Redstone provides the possibility to build basic logic circuits.
