Quickfilter Pro Software Demonstration for QF1D512 The following slides will illustrate how you can design and verify a filter design in minutes! BEGIN Powered by
3
Opening Screen END User Mode can be toggled between Basic or Advanced features. The QF1D512-DK is equipped with two SavFIRe TM devices. Select the “Target:” dropdown to match the desired configuration. We will configure 2 chips in series. To get started on your filter design, double click here (or click “New”).
4
Select Filter Type END The first step is to select the type of filter. We will choose the basic Parks- McClellan Lowpass.
5
Enter Filter Parameters END When you are finished, select “Design Filter”. On this screen we can enter our desired filter specifications.
6
View Calculated Performance The Software computes the number of taps required and plots predicted frequency response… END
7
View Calculated Performance - 2 When you are finished, select “Done” to return to the Configuration screen. END... and impulse response. Toggle between different views of the resulting filter by clicking here.
8
Edit the Filter Design END You can modify the filter characteristics by selecting “Edit”. The filter attributes are displayed here.
9
Designing Filter for Chip B Design the filter for the second chip by selecting Chip B. Then double click here. The process to design and view the filter is the same as Chip A. END
10
Enter Filter Parameters END For Chip B we are implementing a notch filter. Select “Done” when complete.
11
Download to the Dev Board Download the configuration to the Chips by pressing “Start”. END
12
View the FFTs - from the hardware The input signal source is from a white noise file, connected to the development kit board from the PC audio output jack. END The FFT is displayed here. It can be detached (enlarged) by clicking here. A right click can change the attributes of the display. Status of the download is displayed here.
13
View the FFTs - 2 END Use drop down menu to view both FFT results from Chip A and B.
14
Enlarge the FFT Window END Use drop down menu to change number of samples. Print, save the image or capture data points.
15
Comparing the FFTs END Right click on the FFT response window to make transparent, so you can...
16
Transparent FFT Overlay END...overlay the transparent FFT response of Chip A with the FFT response from Chip B for comparison.
17
All required cables and software are included in the Development Kit Thank you for viewing the demo, return to the website for more details END Complete Development Kit
