2 The Interim Period (ca. 2000 - 2006) few digital collections produced elements of a program, but minimal planning o Metadata Analyst / Programmer o Digital Production Center o Digital Collections Council ad hoc approaches and solutions

3 Digital Collections Program (2006 - ongoing) replaced DynaWeb (with in-house Tripod) still working to mainstream metadata creation meanwhile, expectations increase, desire to digitize at large scale

4 Metadata Tool Project: Short-term hire two programmers (done Fall 2008) metadata training for catalogers (Spring 2009) support real-time publication of digital collections and finding databases (2009 - ongoing)

5 Metadata Tool Project: Big Picture integrate with (replace) digitization workflow OLE modularity? open source? shared (consortium) environment? SaaS?
