4. METAPHOR- a direct comparrison. A metaphor does not use like or as. EXAMPLES: “ Cole’s eyes were a blue ocean” – His eyes aren’t really an ocean, their just really blue. “ Melissa’s a whale” - she isn’t really a whale, she’s just really fat.
