5 S5/6 India Scholarship Trip This August, we are offering 30 outstanding young people the chance to visit India for free and embark on a volunteer trip with Free The Children to see one of the most diverse regions of the world. The whole trip is paid for by the in-flight donations of Virgin Atlantic`s generous customers and in the Summer of 2014, those lucky students will be jetting off for two weeks to a Free the Children community in India. From 5 th -23 rd August, students will receive leadership training and have the chance to discuss and consider the complex social issues that they see along their journey; they will volunteer in the local community, helping build a school to provide education to local children and have the chance to explore ancient ruins and visit historical sites surrounding breathtaking Udaipur. We are certain that this will be a life changing experience for students; helping them to put the skills that they have learnt through LifeSkills to a practical use. We do not want anyone to miss out on this fantastic opportunity – if you are aged 12-18 and you feel would be interested you can find out more information and find the application http://www.freethechildren.co.uk/domestic-programming/campaigns/. The deadline to get application in to us is 6pm Sunday 30 March 2014. This is a strict deadline for all parts of the application including creative piece and teacher’s reference, so applicants should get started soon!
