The Following Functions Are Sometimes Allowed

Self Assign This function, when allowed by the assignors, lets a referee select game assignments for a period of time from those games designated as self- assignable and which are within the referee’s assignment rating.

When you click on self assign this is the screen that shows.

To select games for self assignment begin by setting the parameters Set the date to begin listing the games If you wish to restrict the games displayed to a certain complex and/or a certain level set those first

This screen has been set to show all games at Bryan Park from June 21 for the next 30 days for which this referee is rated. To bring the result press search

This is the result. To be assigned to any of these games the referee would click on [Go]

Blocking Sites To Block specific playing fields or complexes so you will not be assigned games at those sites Click on sites Click on Show All Check those sites to block and click save As shown in the next slide

Click on the field sites to be blocked and then click save. Doing this here leads to the next result.

The successfully blocked fields will be listed first along with the dates they were blocked.

Blocking Postal Codes To block specific playing fields or complexes in a certain zipcode so you will not be assigned games at those sites Click on postal codes Click on the + button Enter the zipcode and click the green save check As shown in the next slide

Enter the zipcode to be blocked and click on the green save check. Repeat for additional codes.

Clicking on the green save check gives this result

Blocking Partners To block specific officials so you will not be assigned games with those referees Click on partners Click on Show All Find the Official(s) to block, arranged alphabetically, and place check marks on those officials and click save As shown in the next slide

Click on the page numbers below to bring up more pages or the letters to bring up all officials whose name starts with the chosen letter.

Clicking save on the previous screen brings this result, moving the blocked officials to the top and the dates those blocks were set.

Setting Travel Limits Travel limits restrict an official from showing as being available for games which are beyond the distance the referee is willing to travel. The program calculates the amount of time to reach a game based on travel at 50 mph. You can set different distances you are willing to travel for each day of the week and from where you will be leaving.

The distance from the referee’s departure site and the game site is automatically calculated by the program from the zipcodes of both sites. If you need to change any of your departure day zipcodes you can do so at any time and as soon as they are changed they effect future assignments.

This is the travel limits screen. To change a travel limit click on the edit pencil.

When one of the edit pencils is clicked you will see this screen. Enter the changed zip code or the changed mileage and click on the green save check to complete the change

Summary Effective Fall 2005 all USSF Assignors in North Carolina will be required to assign USSF games in NC through this site. NCSRA is encouraging all playing associations to put all of their games into this system. All USSF referees will be in this system and for those in the college referee association and those whose HS assignors use Arbiter, your schedules will show all of your games at once.

Tutorial Available from NCSRA In order to operate smoothly NCSRA needs all referees to become proficient in using Arbiter. We have put this tutorial on the NCSRA web page for download and review at your convenience. Assignors will also have an extensive tutorial available. As will league administrators, coaches, players, and parents.

Summary Through the statewide consistent use of the USSF North Carolina arbiter system NCSRA hopes to greatly increase communication amongst referees, assignors, and the referee administration. NCSRA’s ultimate goals are more and better referee assignments More and better referee development and promotion. Better Referee service to the Game

Thank You We appreciate your cooperation Your willingness to embark on a new path And your investment of time in learning this new system.
