1. The proposal for Bells Beach Coastal Discovery Centre is an opportunity to explore the emotions and history of a seaside site. The bells beach site is enriched with numerous relationships, interaction between communities of man, animals and plants. This proposal will become much more then what is simply seen by human eyes but the effects upon human feelings and comfort. The approach of this idea evolved from the simple quote, “Natural surrounds of plantation and wildlife develop prosperously because it belongs.” How this affects the design proposal is that the structure will take its place on site as a mark of respect and to awaken our senses to surrounding elements. 3. The belief in the Rainbow Serpent is that it embodies the idea of fertility and the increase richness of rain. It is a creator of human beings, having life- giving powers that send conception spirits to all the waterholes. The myth of the rainbow serpent is that it was powerful figure, and as it made its journey around the surrounding lands it left behind a trail of the streams, rivers and mountains. Therefore the mythological idea that surrounds the rainbow serpent is one of a creator.

6. Administration Office Studio Retail Staircase to lower level Ramp to lower level The design concept was the interlocking of two rainbow serpents, the idea of creation and harmony. The upper lever plan emulates the head of a serpent, while the lower level represents a cured up serpent. The features of the upper storeys are the entrance through the head of the serpent that includes the administration office positioned which is positioned within the brain of the serpent. The relationship of the studio and ramp is that of a journey, a journey from the beginning to the end.

7. Interpretive centre Staircase to upper level The idea behind the lower floor plan is that it became the path and creation of the rainbow serpent. It is the representation of the serpent in a cured up form, as a result it maps out the plan of the interpretive centre. The design characterizes the relationship between man and his surroundings, how two different characters can be unified as one.
