2  Fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other father- figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at their child’s school.  Watch DOGS presence has been known to reduce bullying in schools  They reach out and touch kids lives by being positive male role models in their lives for that one day that they are here.

3  2 kinds of fatherlessness:  Physical-not present and no contact  Emotional-in the home but not emotionally engaged  How big is the problem?  5X more likely to be at or below poverty line  Higher risk for substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and early promiscuity  2X more likely to repeat a grade  2X more likely to drop out of school Translation: Students are missing a very important ingredient in their lives!!

4  Raise the banner of positive fathering through the forum of schools across America and the world.  Awaken fathers to the values and benefits of committed fathers.  Change the culture by where every student has a father or father-figure to connect with in a positive way at school.  Help every school in America be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their students’ life.

5  Complete a registration form and a volunteer forms form the office.  Criminal background has to come back okay  Call, email, or sign on the calendar at the end of the evening when you would like to come and serve  Come to the front office upon arrival for your schedule for your day  Follow your schedule throughout the day  Get your picture taken with your student and complete Watch DOGS survey on computer in the library.

7  Monitor hallways and entrances  Help with traffic flow at arrival and dismissal times  Assist with lunch duty  Assist with recess  Eat lunch with your student  Play with your student during P. E.  Read or tutor small groups  Work with flash cards or educational games  Mentor a student  Chaperone field trips and/or other functions  Help with PTA functions  Smile and be our hero for the day!

8  Going into student restrooms  Be alone or unsupervised with students  Espouse political or religious beliefs to students  Sell or give official Watch DOGS gear to someone who isn’t a Watch DOG  Engage in any conduct that brings disrespect to himself or his student(s), the Watch DOG program and their volunteering fathers

9  Students because their father-figures give their time and energy as a positive male role model.  The school due to the support and safety that the Watch DOG provides as an unobtrusive fathering presence on campus.  The “dads” because they know their role as Watch DOG may impact lives, starting with their own students.
