Permanency Practice Initiative June 27, 2008

Hypothesis Enhanced judicial oversight partnered with strength-based, family led, community involved practice will ultimately increase the number of children safely maintained in their own homes and expedite safe return from out-of-home care.

Expected Outcomes Safety: Safety: –First and foremost protected from abuse & neglect –Safely maintained in their own homes whenever possible

Expected Outcomes Permanency: Permanency: –Children have permanency & stability in their living situation –Continuity of family relationships and connections is preserved for families
