9 Two Sciex-NMS ch Researchers‘ Categories Junior Researchers: Research training placement Fellowships, reserved for promising graduate and postgraduate NMS Researchers (no age restriction). Aims: Doctoral Degree or postdoctoral research. Duration: between a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 18 (for postDocs) and 24 (for Doctoral Candidates) months. Senior Researchers: Knowledge exchange Short Term Visits, open to Senior Researchers from the NMS and Switzerland (no age restriction). Aims: establish a cooperation, visit a Junior Researcher and to discuss a follow-up project. Duration: Up to five days, funds only available after succesful 9

11 Switzerland signed the Bologna Declaration in 1999 A three level system: 3 + 2 + 3 degree system: Bachelor (180 Credits), Master ( 90 or 120 Credits) and PhD Introduction of a Credit-Systems ECTS – 1 Credit corresponds to a workflow of 25 to 30 hours Acceptance of a Bachelor of a Swiss University without conditions to the Master studies of the same field Flexible and transparent system Academic year: mid September to end of June 11
