3 Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November. Thanksgiving Day in America is a time to offer thanks. A time of family gatherings and holiday meals. A time of turkeys, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. A time for Indian corn, holiday parades and giant balloons. I.Introduction

4 II. History of thanksgiving Thanksgiving Day as we know it today in America actually had its beginning in England before the 1600's.

5 II. History of thanksgiving The Pilgrims left their home in England in search of religions liberty. After a long, hard voyage across the Atlantic by the Mayflower ship, finally reached new land.

6 In November, 1620, The Pilgrim sailed into Cape Cod Bay in Massachusetts to start their new life. The first winter was full of harship.

7 II. History of thanksgiving Then in the Spring they planted seeds, and all summer long. They worked on their farms and prayed for good crops. When fall came, they had a very good harvest with plenty of food for the winter.
