2 Our Mission What we do  The Urostomy Association is committed to the support of people affected by a urinary diversion through the provision of information, support, research and education.

3 Our Vision Why we do it  We want to ensure that those affected by urinary diversion can achieve the best possible “quality of life” both before and after surgery.

4 Our Values Key values which can help us achieve our vision  We listen to our members’ needs  We are the providers of reliable and trusted information and support, independent of commercial influence  We will strive to investigate new ways to help those affected  We are valued as the “voice of the patient” with medical professionals, product manufacturers, service providers, and government

5 Key Objectives Our areas of focus 1.The Urostomy Association will continue to be known as the reliable and independent source of information for those affected by urinary diversion. 2.We will explore new ways to learn even more about the impact of urinary diversion, and share what we find. 3.Everyone who works with us to fulfill our mission will have the skills and support to achieve the best results.

6 Key Objectives (Continued) Our areas of focus 4.As a growing organisation we will retain our personal contact with our members’ needs, whilst always ensuring we fulfill our obligations as a registered charity.

7 Objective 1: We will use our best endeavors to ensure those affected by urinary diversion have access to the information and support they need.  Maintain and expand our branch network  Actively engage with members to understand their needs and align our work to these needs.  Be the “voice of the patient” with medical professionals, product manufacturers, service providers, and government

8 Objective 2: We will explore new ways to learn even more about the impact of urinary diversion, and share what we find.  Engage with additional medical practitioners to benefit from expertise, keep up to date and spread the workload.  Raise funds to undertake focused research.  Redesign our website  Liaise with appliance manufacturers and suppliers to learn of new developments and advise of problems.

9 Objective 3: Everyone who works with us to fulfill our mission will have the skills and support to achieve the best results.  We want to Identify new people and ideas to support our work (both as trustees and supporters)  Make the best use of our volunteers’ skills by focusing on specific tasks and working in a consistent way  Take advice from experts when necessary  Train our officers and visitors in our approach and operational needs

10 Objective 4: As a growing organisation we will retain our personal contact with our members’ needs, whilst always ensuring we fulfill our obligations as a registered charity.  Review and update our Constitution  Take advice from experts when necessary  Assign roles and responsibilities  Form sub-committees focused on a specific task, with regular progress reviews to keep us on track  Maintain a stable income stream to fulfill our objectives now and in the future

11 Continue our existing work  Our branches, meetings and newsletters  Our Journal  Our close collaborative working with medical professionals, appliance manufacturers and suppliers  Our influential “voice of the patient” in Government consultations.

12 Keeping you informed  We will provide a report of progress towards our strategic plan on an annual basis:  at our NAGM and  in the Urostomy Association Journal.
