3 The Best Dhikr

4 Lessons learnt from this Hadith: 1. Zikr means to remember or think of Allah. 2. A person who remembers Allah, Allah remembers him. 3. By making Zikr our hearts will be cleansed of all evil qualities. 4. A person who recites laa ilaha illallah 100 times daily, his face will shine like the full moon on the day of Qiyaamah. 5. A person who makes the Zikr of Allah is like a living person, whilst a person who does not make Zikr is like a dead person (spiritually).

5 Once, Hadhrat Moosa asked Allah to teach him a special form of Zikr. Allah told him to read laa ilaha illallah. Hadhrat Moosa said that this Zikr is read by everybody. Allah again told him to read laa ilaha illallah. Hadhrat Moosa replied that he wanted a Zikr that was for him only. Allah said, "O Moosa, if the seven skies and the seven earths were placed in one pan of the scale and the kalimah laa ilaha illallah was placed in the other pan, the kalimah will be heavier."
