Common Characteristics Anorexia Bulimia Binge Eating Eating Disorders Distorted body image Low self-worth Obsession with food Distorted feelings about hunger Emotionally withdrawn Secretive Disorder typified by an intense fear of weight gain that results in starvation Disorder which includes 2 key behaviors: Bingeing: uncontrollable eating of huge amounts of food. Purging: Clearing the food from their digestive system Disorder that involves repeatedly eating very large amounts of food. Binge eaters do not engage in follow up behavior to prevent weight gain.
