Tang and Song period= China’s Golden Age; arguably the richest, most powerful, and most advanced country in the world at this point Wendi united northern and southern China 350 years after the collapse of the Han Dynasty; he forms the Sui Dynasty; it falls after two emperors; why? Tang dynasty lasts for nearly 300 years; founded by Tang Taizong (ruled 626-649). China retakes northern and western lands lost in the late Han; China takes Korea; role of Empress Wu Zhao (only female emperor)
