2 Content Area: Science Grade Level: Kindergarten Summary: The purpose of this instructional PowerPoint is to have the students understand the various bodies of water. Learning Objective: Given information about the bodies of water, the student will correctly answer questions regarding the bodies of water with 100% accuracy. Content Standard: Geography enables the students to see, understand and appreciate the web of relationships between people, places, and environments. Students will use the knowledge, skills, and understanding of concepts within the six essential elements of geography: world in spatial terms, places and regions, physical systems, human systems, environment and society, and the uses of geography. Accomplishment: K.3.03 Demonstrate how to identify and locate major physical and political features on globes and maps.

3 Bodies of Water Facts There are various bodies of water. The ones we will be exploring include: Ocean  Largest body of salt water Lake  Surrounded on all sides by land Bay  Surrounded by land on three sides River  Natural waterway formed from precipitation Stream  Smallest body of water

After learning the facts and viewing the website about bodies of water, the students’ knowledge will be tested with a few questions about the information they have learned and their knowledge of the bodies of water.
