13. The ITFSMV was set up in 2009 after positive feedback to INTERPOL‘s
operational support of vehicle operations
Objectives:
 Offering operational support for national law enforcement agencies (on request)
 Lending expertise and tools (e.g. access to different national databases)
 Establishing a network of vehicle experts

 Over vehicles checked
 Over 110 stolen vehicles identified and seized
Around 50 suspects arrested
(not exclusively in relation to vehicle crimes)
