3. Fliers Load The permissible concentrated force acting on an area of 100 x 100 mm in the flier centre is 1500 N. To select the flier grillage type, apply the same rules as for the framing type selection. A selection procedure and example is given for floor framings Material quality Fliers are made as weldments of expanded metal, fixing plates and stiffeners. The expanded metal (3x62.5/15x5 or 3x47/13x5) is manufactured from plates of the steel qualities 11321.1, 11320.10, 11300.10, 11330.30. 4. Surface protection By customer’s request, the fliers are supplied as hot galvanized acc. to DIN 50976, raw without surface protection, varnished or hot galvanized acc. to DIN 50976. Flier mounting The flier fixing plates (side edges) are provided with circular and oval holes for screws M12 to attach the flier to the strings. Each flier has to be fixed with 4 screws. 7. Framings Material quality Floor framings are made as weldments of expanded metal, peripheral frames and stiffeners. The expanded metal (62.5/15x5) is manufactured from plates of the steel qualities 11321.1, 11320.10, 11300.10, 11330.30. The peripheral frame and the stiffeners are made from the same material as the expanded metal, or from the 11 373.1 steel quality plates. Surface protection The floor framings are supplied without surface treatment, with surface protection by hot galvanizing acc. to DIN 50976, oiled or varnished. Example Setpoints: - dimensions: span (support distance) L= 750mm, non-bearing width W = 1000 mm - load: 350 kg/sqm, which corresponds to 3.5 kN/sqm - requirement: an expanded metal framing without special limitations Solution: - find the nearest satisfactory framing from the expanded metal framing loading tables - indicate the name in the order: expanded metal framing T62.5 x 15 / 3 x 5 / 30 x 3 / 800 x 1000 Note: The bearing dimension value has been increased by reason of the framing placing on the support. The framing support seating in the stiffeners direction should, if possible, be at least equal to the stiffeners height, the minimum value is 25 mm.
