1 Directions: Using a scratch piece of paper, make two cards. Label one card fact and the other fib. When I put the statement on the screen decide whether it is a fact or fib. When I say go, lay down your card. Whoever plays the write card, gets a point!

2 Fact or Fib: Statement 1 The Judiciary Act of 1789 established the Federal court system of the Supreme Court and lower district courts. FACT

3 Fact or Fib: Statement 2 Hamilton wanted to use the national bank, tariffs, and taxes to pay off war debt and build the economy. FACT

4 Fact or Fib: Statement 3 President Washington refused to use force to put down the Whiskey Rebellion. FIB Washington sent troops and showed that he was not afraid to use force to maintain order against a rebellion.

17 Fact or Fib: Statement 16 The Lewis and Clark Expedition lasted from 1804 to 1810. They studied the Northwest Territory. FIB The expedition lasted from 1804-06. They explored, mapped, and studied the Louisiana Territory. Also, found a NW passage to the Pacific Ocean.

18 Fact or Fib: Statement 17 The Embargo Act of 1807 placed an successful ban on trade with only Britain and France. FIB The Embargo Act actually killed US Trade because it restricted imports/exports in an effort to hurt Briatin.

24 Fact or Fib: Statement 23 FACT The Era of Good Feelings was a period of nationalism and unity during Monroe’s presidency.

25 Fact or Fib: Statement 24 Zebulon Pike explored the lower Mississippi River and present day Arizona. FIB He explored the upper Mississippi River and present day Colorado. Pike’s Peak is named after him.
