2 Brand standards Applies to everyone in the college Shows the connection to the mission areas, the college and the university Benefits programs via connection to university, and vice versa

3 The consistent and proper use of the university logo not only strengthens recognition for Ohio State but also projects the university’s established reputation onto all of the many individual entities that make up our university. – University brand guidelines

6 Today we’ll discuss Co-branding New branding tools Merchandise

7 Cfaes.osu.edu/brand/templates 17 categories of templates for your use Use them as is, or use them as a guide to create something yourself Send them to the brand team for review and approval InDesign versions are available in Buckeye Box

8 Tips for common challenges How to crop photos if you don’t have photoshop How to make sure you are using brand colors When to use CMYK vs RGB How to choose the right logo file for your needs – jpeg, png, tiff, gif, eps Tips for creating infographics with free or inexpensive web- based applications

9 Principles behind co-branding Establish Ohio State’s role (including CFAES, Extension and OARDC) Protect Ohio State’s logo Recognize partners appropriately

10 To show it’s our party Make our logo dominate with color and/or size Choose black or gray versions of partner logos. This also prevents too many colors from distracting from your primary message Consider recognizing partners in a special section on a page separate from our logo

11 Don’t crowd our logo. It needs its space.

12 Give our logo space There should be a full Block O’s width between any side of our logo and the next element, including the edge of the page. If you are placing another logo next to ours, there should be THREE Block O’s between our logo and another.

13 OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION  Oops! Too close to the scarlet bar. Too close! Our logo needs to be THREE Block Os away from other logos. USDA’s logo is too big in comparison to ours, too. 

14 OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION Full Block O width away from other elements. Plenty of space! 

15 OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION At least three block O’s between these logos! And it appears that USDA and the college are equal partners. 

16 OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION In this example, USDA and EPA are supporting the effort, but are not equal partners with us. 
