3. ALTERNATIVES TO PLASTIC PACKAGING We decided that we wanted to reduce the amount of plastic packaging on toys, so we found a toy with lots of plastic on it and redesigned the packaging. The toy we worked on was a Toy Story toy:

4. ALTERNATIVES TO PLASTIC PACKAGING First we considered what alternatives we could use:  metal – too expensive and heavy  glass – too fragile  fabric – not sturdy enough  cardboard – cheap and recyclable

10. ALTERNATIVES TO PLASTIC PACKAGING This form of packaging is recyclable, easy to stack on the shelf and uses no plastic. If it was used instead of the original packaging it would reduce landfill waste significantly.

12. ALTERNATIVES TO PLASTIC PACKAGING We think we need to use less plastic because: It ruins the environment especially for wildlife and sealife It ends up in landfill and it can poison the soil It will help future generations to have a better environment to live in
