5. RECENT PROBLEM  Current violations of Title IX under the Sexual Harassment portion  November 5, 2014. Princeton University violates Title IX by not responding promptly to 3 sexual assault cases on campus  October 6, 2014. Columbia University dismisses lawsuit of Title IX violation from May 2014, accusing the rapist for his assault and not the school for mishandling the situation. Also September 22, 2014. Student carries mattress around until Columbia takes action under Title IX to suspend her rapist.  October 29, 2014. Florida State University’s running back, Karlos Williams under investigation of Title IX violation for sexual assaults  The list goes on! This is a big deal

6. CLAIM & IDEAS  Universities are not doing their best to protect their students from Title IX violations, in particular, sexual assault  1.Order Universities by their violations, discuss how they were handled  2. If violations of Title IX are handled correctly, to discus how they can prevent future assault cases  3. More states should enacting “Yes means Yes” law, which defines sexual consent helping colleges handle sexual assaults correctly and more efficiently  4. Also, Universities should enforce students to learn their Title IX rights

7. CONCLUSION  Universities can prevent sexual assaults and preserve their image by handling sexual assaults correctly and efficiently  With students knowing their Title IX, they can take proper action
