Drug-Free Communities Grant DFC grant is a federal grant through SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) Supports community efforts to address youth substance abuse and adults over time Five (5) year grant – $125,000 per year; no funds may be used for programming Funds may NOT be used for direct services, program delivery or capital projects One full-time employee One quarter-time employee

Alliance for Better Communities (ABC) Committees Assessment Capacity Planning Implementation Evaluation Sustainability Media and Diversity Independent Evaluator All activities will be overseen by the Executive Committee who will work closely with the legal grantee, ASAC (Pivot)

Capacity Building and Cultural Competence Members from disparate populations Jefferson County largely Caucasian Great diversity within socio-economic standing and educational attainment Media and the Diversity Committee will ensure that All communications to the community will be culturally sensitive Appropriately packaged Translated for low literacy levels Translated into Spanish Messages to youth via Instagram and Twitter Messages to military population via the military/community liaison
