2 InTASC Standard Standard #5: Application of Content The teacher understands how to connect concepts and use differing perspectives to engage learners in critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem solving related to authentic local and global issues. Name of Artifact: Health/PE lesson Plan Date: March 8, 2015 Course: EDUC 240 Physical and Health Education for Elementary Teachers Description: This is a lesson plan covering the topic of violence prevention. You will find the correct National Standards, Indiana Academic Standards, and measurable objectives. There are a total of two activities to help understand the concept. Also included is accommodations that may need to be made. Rational: To document my understanding of InTASC Standard 5, Application of Content, I have selected to include my health/PE lesson plan because it shows how a teacher connects concepts using different perspectives to engage learners.
