Why is palm oil a problem? The global palm oil industry is expanding rapidly: it's used in an increasing number of food and shower products, while demands for its use in fuels like diesel are set to soar in the near future. Acres of trees chopped down and replacled by palm oil plantations

What Enviroment is it effecting? Tropical rainforests, in South East Asia are being destroyed to make way for oil palm plantations. Not only is this a disaster for local communities, it will also release vast amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, speeding up climate change.

Who is it affecting? The Growing plantations of Palm Oil are affecting many different types of animals. The ecosystem is effected as a whole from the bugs to the orangutans and while the palm oil plantatons are being made animal rights to orangutans in the main are being broken. This orangutan has been killed by plantation workers

How its affecting animals? The habitat of the animals are being destroyed for a profit and the money doesn‘t stay in the country.

Who controls the plantations? The Indonesian Goverment allows 74 palm oil plantations. This is an area of 672,977 hectares over 14 provinces. ASDA are starting to try and ban palm oil plantations. Colgate, is another company that owns palm oil plantations.

This is wrong Not only are defenless animals and whole ecosystems being destroyed the worker arent being payed and only the rich people in these countries are making the profit and the poor are getting poorer.
