5 Ron Tzur Professor of Math Education Department of Curriculum and Instruction Professor of Math Education Department of Curriculum and Instruction Profile: BS - Mathematics and Geography, 1986, University of Haifa MS - Mathematics Education, 1992, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology PhD - Mathematics Education, 1995, University of Georgia Areas of Scholarly Interest: His research interests include children's conceptions of mathematical concepts and conceptually-based and culturally-relevant pedagogy for teaching children about mathematics. He has previously held faculty positions at Penn State University and North Carolina State University. He has been appointed a Professor of Mathematics Education here at Purdue. However, he will delay coming to Purdue full-time in order to serve as a program officer at the National Science Foundation beginning this month. A Purdue Boilermaker! – according to her husband. Her grandfather was a ME professor at Purdue. Her parents, husband, and one son are Purdue graduates. Currently has one son who is a Purdue junior. Grew up in Noblesville, IN. Moved here to teach school. Taught for six years before becoming a stay at home mom. Raised two sons. Substitute taught after both sons in school.
