3 Item Search / Inquiry The Item Inquiry segment of QSEARCH is significantly improved (included only in I/O DMASPlus! ) One of two main elements in QSEARCH Also available within o Billing order entry o Item User Friendly Maintenance 2

Now including a powerful, integrated searching facility o Same search facility as integrated into Item User Friendly Maintenance o Provides the ability to search the contents of 48 item master fields either individually or in combination with each other o Once the desired item is found, with an option: Enter directly into standard DMAS item inquiry for the specific item (including all standard DMAS item inquiry screens) Or, browse via any one of the item maintenance screens Or, inquire into any one of the item related files: o Item Balance (warehouse) file o Vendor Item file o Item Features & Options (if installed) o Manufactured Item file (if installed) o Item Relationship file o Item Cross-Reference file 3

8 Entering Item QSEARCH When entering QSEARCH, the first “Begin Search” screen is essentially the same as standard DMAS QSEARCH Using the F4=Lookup function key when the cursor is placed into the Item Inquiry entry capable field however, now displays the new Work with Items screen 7

9 Entering Item QSEARCH The initial QSEARCH screen Access the new item search and inquiry function by placing the cursor anywhere within the Item Inquiry entry capable field and pressing the F4=Lookup function key 8 Return to Item QSEARCH Summary Or use the input capable ‘Search” fields to use the old method of searching for items Or key the desired item number / warehouse to go directly to the desired item

10 Work with Items The Work with items screen is displayed when using the F4=Lookup function key when the cursor is in the item number entry capable field Provides the ability for a user to select the item to be queried from a displayed list Built on the new “work with” architecture Options available include o View item data utilizing the legacy DMAS Item Inquiry screens o View item data utilizing “Browse only” mode of item user friendly maintenance screens o Go directly to Item Balance Search / Inquiry for a specific item o Go directly to Vendor Item Search / Inquiry for a specific vendor / item o Work with item notes for a specific item Function keys available for o Viewing alternate views of selection screen o Turn “On” or “Off” the feature to view additional customer browse pages o Display all searching selection fields available on two screens 9

11 Return to Item QSEARCH Summary Work with Items The new Work with Items screen will be displayed – View 1 To go to the standard DMAS item inquiry function and screens, use the 1=Select option on the desired item line (see Standard DMAS Item Inquiry)Standard DMAS Item Inquiry To view one of the new item browse screens, use one of the options 5 through 9, then page through the available pages (see Item Inquiry Browse) Item Inquiry Browse 10 View 2 Use F11=Alternate view to view additional item record detail Function key F14=subset list if part of the new item search function (see Searching for an Item) Searching for an Item For more information about using the selection line, please refer to Searching for an Item Searching for an Item

16 Searching for an Item This section only applies to searching for items from the Work with Items screen (L3282) Provides many possibilities for searching for one or more items o Search for the contents of a single item master field o Search for specific data in multiple item master fields at the same time To use the new item search function, the user may o Utilize the “selection” line on the Work with Items screen (L3282) o Use the function key F14=Subset list 15

43 Function Key F14=Subset List The F14=Subset list function key displays nearly all item selection fields used for searching, on 2 screens It is recommended to use function key F14=Subset list function for complex searches that would normally require selection field entry over several item selection screens For fields requiring specific codes, the same codes are required whether the selection line is used or F14 is used To search multiple fields using the Select Item Records screen (D1280), key the desired search criteria into as many fields as necessary for combination searching When finished with selections, use F14=Subset list to make sure all previous selections have been blanked out 42
