Confidential Continental Tire Sumter Plant › Engineering 20 years ago vs. skill set/education needed now – Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree required for any Engineering position with Continental. › Mechanical Engineers need to have strong mathematical comprehension and the ability to trouble shoot problems. They have to understand how outside strains and forces influence material behavior. › Chemical Engineers need to have a strong mathematical comprehension and the ability to trouble shoot problems.
