Ar verb endings…  Conjugate a verb to incorporate who or what is doing that verb.  That is why we say “I am, you are, he is, she is, we are, they are”  We are incorporating who or what is doing that verb.  In English, it is two words  I have, you have  But, in Spanish they use only one word  Tengo, tienes, etc.

5. What is two things you notice?  1. They are all in the infinitive form.  2. They all end in –ar.

6. Let’s Conjugate! -ar verb endings Yo – o Nosotros(as) – amos Tú – as Él, Ella, Ud. – a Ellos, Ellas, Uds. – an First, you need to know the endings.

8. Yo form  When you want to talk about yourself, you use the yo form of the verb.  Cant ar (To sing)  Cant (take off the –ar ending)  Cant o (add – o )  Yo canto (I sing)
