3 Introduction  Recently, online friendship has become common.  Show concern to this teen problem  Know more causes about this teen problem  Study the consequences of online friendship  Find solutions to solve this serious teen problem.

4 Research Questions 1. What is online friendship? 2. Why do teenagers make friends on Net? 3. What effects are resulted of making friends on Net? 4. What are the solutions to solve the problem of making friends on Net?

5 1. What is online friendship?  Internet relationships.  It includes intimate relationships, between people who make friends online via the Internet.  Develop in places like blogs, online groups, Facebook etc.

6 2. Why do teenagers make friends on Net?  In busy life, meeting friends is not easy.  Relieve stress and make relationship easier on net  Can hold real time audio and video conversations over the internet.  Peer pressure.

Personal:  Affect children's academic results and neglect their studies  May make bad friends.  Wangle their money / may be hurt when going out to meet online friends.  May accidently give out personal information so others may know your address or phone number etc. Family:  Children and their families will become alienated.  The relationships with family members will worsen, decrease their chances of communication and family problems will rise.

Individuals:  Think critically  Ask for family and friends' views before meeting online friends  Seek assistance from social workers if there are any problems  Join activities Schools:  Present talks and discuss the problem of making friends on Net with the students

12 Police:  Work with schools to strengthen communication and public education, urge caution young people using the Internet Parents:  Keep an eye on their children's online activities by surfing the Net with their children  Teach their children social skills so as to let them make more friends  Talk with their children to understand their thinking, help them to solve their problems  Inculcate the right attitude towards the Internet  Arrange extra-curricular activities for their children.

13 Conclusion Teens should:  Think critically when making friends on Net  Not give themselves too much pressure on studies  Seek help from family members, school and social workers when facing any difficulties
