What is Ciberbullying? 1: Cyberbullying is using the Internet, cell phones, video game systems, or other technology to send or post text or images intended to hurt or embarrass another person. 2: Actions that use information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior by an individual or group, that is intended to harm another or others. 3: Use of communication technologies for the intention of harming another person 4: Use of internet service and mobile technologies such as web pages and discussion groups as well as instant messaging or SMS text messaging with the intention of harming another person.

The effects of ciberbullying The effects of ciberbullying can last a lifetime if the victims does not get help. Some of these eeffects are: Depression Low self-esteem It can make hard for the victim to communicate Suicide

5 Reasons why kids ciberbully others Are motivated by revenge. They want to alleviate boredom Give into peer pressure. Are hungry for power. Believe they won’t get caught.

Ciberbullying case: Amanda Michelle Todd (November 27, 1996 – October 10, 2012) committed suicide at the age of 15 at her home in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. Prior to her death, Todd had posted a video on YouTube in which she used a series of flash cards to tell her experience of being blackmailed into exposing her breasts via webcam; bullied; and physically assaulted. The video went viral after her death, resulting in international media attention.

How father´s could prevent ciberbullying Know the sites your kids visit and their online activities. Tell your kids that as a responsible parent you may review their online communications if you think there is reason for concern. Ask for their passwords Encourage your kids to tell you immediately if they, or someone they know, is being cyberbullied.
