Pr 28:1 The wicked flee though no one is pursuing, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. 4 Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive with them. 5 Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all. 6 Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich. 7 He that keeps the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of fools shames his father. 8 He who multiplies his wealth by interest and unjust gain, he shall gather it for him who pities the weak. 9 Whoever turns aside his ear from hearing the Law, even his prayer is an abomination. 10 He who causes the upright to go astray in an evil way shall fall into his own pit, and the blameless shall inherit good.

13 He who covers his sins never prospers, but he who confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy. 14 Happy is the man that fears always; but he that hardens his heart shall fall into evil. 15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people. 18 He who walks uprightly shall be saved, but he who is perverse in his ways shall fall at once. 19 He who cultivates his ground shall have plenty of bread, but one pursuing vanities shall have much poverty. 22 A man with an evil eye hastens after wealth, but he does not know that poverty will come on him. 23 He that rebukes a man shall in the end find more favor than he that flatters with the tongue.. 24 He who robs his father or his mother, and says, It is not a transgression, he shall be a partner to a destroyer.

26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom shall be delivered. 27 He who gives to the poor shall not lack, but he who hides his eyes shall have plenty of curses. 28 When the wicked rise, a man hides himself; but when they perish, the righteous increase.

Rm 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; Outdo one another in showing honor. Brotherly Love

Affectionate- 1. Having great love, as an affectionate brother or sister. 2. Warm in affection; zealous. The teacher asked the pupils to tell the meaning of loving-kindness. A little girl jumped up and said, "Well, if I was hungry and someone gave me a piece of bread that would be kindness. But if they put a little jam on it, that would be loving- kindness." When it comes to loving those in the church who offend us or are difficult to love, we are “real stingy” with the jam sometimes. Illustration

A young man from a small mid-western town, left his employer, a lumber merchant who was also a member of his church, and began a business in competition with his ex boss. For a while he prospered greatly and got many orders that would have gone to the firm he had left. But just when his business seemed to be most flourishing, and he had more orders than he could supply, a huge fire in his yard destroyed all his lumber. The day after the fire he saw his old employer coming toward his office. He said later, "I could have hated him, for I thought he was coming to gloat over my misfortune. But he came to me as a friend in need and said, “I know you have agreed to supply lumber to your customers by certain dates, and this unfortunate fire makes it impossible for you to do it. My lumber yard is at your disposal. You can have what you need and pay me at your own convenience. Your business may go on as usual." The young man was overwhelmed by this embodiment of the Golden Rule; the rivalry and anger that he had felt gave place to love. Mt 7:12 "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

The Importance of Brotherly Love 1. It is seen in its frequent exhortation. Gal 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. 1Th 4:9 But as touching brotherly love you need not that I write to you: for you yourselves are taught of God to love one another. 10 And indeed you do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that you increase more and more; 1Pe 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently: 1Pe 2:17 Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

2. Without it is very hard to forgive your brother or sister. 1Pe 4:8 And above all things have fervent love to yourselves, for love will cover a multitude of sins. 1Pe 4:8 And above all things have fervent love to yourselves, for love will cover a multitude of sins. Mt 18:21 Then Peter came to Him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Until seven times? 22 Jesus said to him, I do not say to you, Until seven times; but, until seventy times seven. 3. It secures your Heavenly calling. 2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue, and to virtue, knowledge, 6 and to knowledge, self-control, and to self-control, steadfastness, and to steadfastness, godliness, 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness, love.

8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they will keep you from being barren or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. 10 Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. 11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 12 Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have.

4. It is how the world knows that you are a Christian Jn 13:35 By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another. Jn 13:35 By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another. And it is how we know that we are Christians. 1Jn 2:10 He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him. 1Jn 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not his brother abides in death. 1Jn 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God. 8 He that loves not knows not God; for God is love.
