Mayflower In 1620, many Englishmen sailed to American on ships. One of those ships was called Mayflower. And these Englishmen were called Pilgrim.

The Pilgrims arrived in the New World during the winter
The Pilgrims arrived in the New World during the winter. They had a hard time to find food, built houses and churches. Many of them got sick and died.

Luckily, native people called Indians to help them survive
Luckily, native people called Indians to help them survive. Indians taught them how to plant corns and hunt for turkeys.

Next year, the Pilgrims invited the Indians a big feast for celebrate the first successful harvest of Pilgrims. And the Pilgrims also were thankful to the help from Indians.

This was the first Thanksgiving
This was the first Thanksgiving. Now people celebrate Thanksgiving in the 4th Thursday of November every year.
