3 CBSA Environment Top 20 Ports of Entry (POE) process over 80% of the land border traffic; Over the past decade CBSA has focused capital investment on the large volume ports of entry with a focus on the Designated Commercial Offices (DCO); The majority of the CBSA’s larger DCO ports have been, or are in the process of being redeveloped and are functional and provide adequate serviceability;

4 CBSA – Current projects Modernization and expansion of commercial facilities at: Pacific Highway – March 2012 Abbotsford-Huntingdon – March 2012 Lacolle – Summer/Fall 2013 Port Replacement Projects at: Prescott – March 2012 Kingsgate – March 2012 Aldergrove – 2013/2014 Completion of Residential accommodation at remote Northern Ports of Entry: Little Gold – October 2010 Pleasant Camp – March 2011 Beaver Creek – March 2012

5 CBSA – Challenges 50% of the CBSA inventory of smaller ports is over 35 years of age and can not adequately support new program initiatives such as the Doubling-Up; Competition for limited resources; Ensure that investment required to address the rust-out situation at the smaller and remote ports is undertaken without compromising the condition and functionality of the major DCO ports.

6 CBSA – Priorities Address operational and functional deficiencies at the larger DCO ports; Lacolle, Emerson, North Portal Recapitalized investment at the larger DCO ports; St-Armand or Philipsburg, Woodstock, Pacific Highway Port replacement Projects: Pleasant Camp, Fraser, Stewart, St. Leonard Small Port Replacement projects in support of the Doubling-Up initiative

7 CBSA – Moving Forward Continue to foster and improve relationship with Internal Stakeholders (Regions/Transport Canada) and External Stakeholders (PWGSC, GSA, FHWA, CBP, local Municipal/Provincial/State Governments); Identify key priorities and the wider goals and outcomes sought by the Agency and the GoC; Consolidate projects where efficiencies can be achieved;
