3. Work of priests  Each sacrifice was cut open into two… “to the joint and marrow”  Ongoing sacrifices = atonement for sins. Leviticus 9:7

4. Jesus: High Priest at work  His one sacrifice: still powerfully working. Heb. 7:26-27  He’ll judge with unrivaled power. Rev. 1:16; 2:12

5. Truths about the Word of God  Living and powerful  Cuts between soul and spirit  Exposes our innermost thoughts and desires Heb. 4:12

6. Effects of God’s Word  Nothing hidden from God  Everything is naked/exposed before God’s eyes  We are accountable to Him. Heb. 4:13

7. The Point: Don’t Turn Back  …to Judaism as our first century brethren were tempted.  …to the world as so many modern Christians are tempted.  Don’t harden your heart. Keep the faith!

8. Allow Christ – His Word – To Work  Allow His sacrifice to cut to “joint and marrow” of your heart.  Don’t “act” like a Christian…live intentionally – from the heart - as one!
