GREEK POLITICAL STRUCTURE Monarchy – rule by a single person, or king Aristocracy – government ruled by small group of nobles Oligarchy – government ruled by few powerful people Tyrants – powerful individuals who seized control of the government by appealing to the common people for support. Unlike today, tyrants were not considered cruel or harsh
